The young musical virtuoso, pianist Aljosa Jurinić, will perform with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra on April 1 in the Revelin Fort at 20:30. The conductor will be Christoph Campestrini, the music director of the International Music Festival "Dubrovnik in late summer." The audience will have the opportunity to hear Mozart's Piano Concerto No.26 in D Major in the first half and Mendelssohn's Symphony no. 5 in D minor in the second.
Born in Zagreb, Aljosa Jurinić is the first Croatian pianist who has reached the finals of the prestigious Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. It is the most important competition in the musical world, held every five years which brings together hundreds of the most talented pianists from around the world from the age of 17 till 30.
In addition to the finals in this prestigious competition, Aljosa Jurinić has received several awards at national and international competitions, including the success achieved in 2012 at the renowned Robert Schumann Piano Competition. That same year he won the first prize at the 3rd International Piano Competition "Encore!" Shura Cherkassky in Milan. At the 4th International Piano Competition Luciano Luciani in Cosenza and the 5th International Piano Competition in Camaiore in Italy he won first prize.
