Did you know that two great Croatian artists helped transform Cavtat into an important centre of Croatian cultural life? One was a prolific painter with over 1,000 works, while the other was a sculptor whose architectural masterpiece stands as a powerful symbol of love and death.

Cavtat has a long and fascinating history. On this tour, you will travel 2,000 years back in time to when Cavtat was the Roman colony of Epidaurum. You will learn about its disappearance and why so few traces remain, hear stories of shipwrecks near the Cavtat harbour, and discover many more intriguing details from its past and present.

The tour lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes and starts at 09:30 in front of the Franciscan Monastery. It takes place every Friday from April 10 to October 30, 2026. Participation is free of charge, and no prior registration is required. The tour is conducted in English.
