Blato Wine & Dine – Lumblija Days
From October 20 to November 11, 2025, Blato welcomes you to Lumblija Days, a beloved island tradition celebrating flavours, heritage, and community, organized by the Blato Tourist Board and Blatski fižuli.
The central event will take place on Saturday, October 25 at 9:30 a.m. in the Blato Town Park, featuring tastings of Lumblija and other island products, traditional costumes, and the rich autumn flavours of Blato and the island of Korčula. On Sunday, October 26 at 10 a.m., the blessing and tasting of Lumblija, prepared by students of the “Ivo Padovan” High School, will be held on Plokata Square.
The programme also includes culinary workshops with registered Lumblija producers, whose cakes bear the EU Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) label, offering visitors the chance to learn the art of Lumblija making and enjoy this unique delicacy.
Lumblija, a traditional sweet bread made with almonds, walnuts, dried fruit, and varenik (grape must syrup), is a symbol of love and remembrance, carrying the scent and taste of Blato’s heritage through generations.
The event opens on October 20 at the Blato Cultural Centre with the presentation of the project Memoria Dalmata, 100 Years of Dalmatian Immigration to Brazil. This manifestation connects tradition, gastronomy, and history, celebrating the identity of Blato and the island of Korčula.
