Saturday Winter Mornings
Folklore Performances and Thematic City Tours During the Winter Months
The Dubrovnik Tourist Board, aiming to encourage tourist visits during the winter months, traditionally organizes the “Saturday Winter Morning in the City” program, which began on November 9 and will run until March 29, 2025, featuring a folklore performance in front of St. Blaise’s Church.
Thematic city tours are held every Saturday, starting at 9:30 AM in front of the Pile Tourist Information Center (TIC) in English, and at 12:30 PM in Croatian. At 11:30 AM, in front of St. Blaise’s Church, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board offers visitors a folklore performance, which will not take place in case of bad weather.
During December, the city tours will revolve around the theme “Cosmopolitan Dubrovnik.” While exploring the city, visitors can learn about the development of Europe’s most prominent religions, their origins, and their spread across the continent, as well as the religious communities that settled in Dubrovnik in past centuries. On the last two Saturdays of December, December 21 and 28, free thematic city tours will continue with the theme “Dubrovnik’s Kolenda.” Visitors and locals will have the opportunity to learn more about the tradition of kolenda (caroling) and the customs of the Dubrovnik region, a tradition that has been preserved in Dubrovnik for over 800 years.
In January, February, and March 2025, as part of the Saturday Winter Morning program, in addition to performances by the Linđo Folklore Ensemble, thematic city tours will alternate at the aforementioned times with different themes: “Cosmopolitan Dubrovnik,” “St. Blaise – In Honor of Our Patron,” and “Traces of Love Through the Ages.”
Announcements of the specific dates for thematic tours as part of the Saturday Winter Morning program will be posted on the Dubrovnik Tourist Board’s Facebook page.
Due to the limited number of participants, registration for these thematic city tours is required via email at tic.pile@tzdubrovnik.hr or by phone at +385 20 312 011, no later than Friday by 5 PM.
