Midsummer Scene Festival has become one of Dubrovnik’s most distinctive theatre events, combining international theatre production with the unique atmosphere of Fort Lovrjenac, one of the Mediterranean’s most impressive open-air stages. The festival is known for its English-language performances, international casts and contemporary interpretations of famous literary classics.
This summer, from June 24th to July 5th, the festival presents One for All (A Three Musketeers Tale), a dynamic and humorous new adaptation of The Three Musketeers, written especially for the Lovrjenac stage. The play is written by festival co-founder Filip Krenus and directed by British director Sean Aita.
Told from the perspective of an ageing D’Artagnan imprisoned alongside a troupe of actors, the production combines adventure, comedy, swordplay and playful theatrical storytelling in a contemporary interpretation of Alexandre Dumas’ classic.
As in previous seasons, the festival brings together an international creative team alongside performers from the United Kingdom and Dubrovnik, continuing its signature blend of historic setting, strong ensemble acting and modern theatrical storytelling.
The performance is held in English, lasts approximately 90 minutes and takes place every evening except June 30th.
