Midsummer Scene celebrates its sixth season this year as the only English theatre festival in Southeastern Europe.

In this relatively short period of time it has established itself as a major cultural event and as a platform for international concepts and collaborations.

The Festival coincides with the beginning of summer, and it its first year, it opened at an important milestone: 450^th Anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth. Dubrovnik joined the world celebrations of this important year by staging one of the Bard’s most beloved comedies: A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Fort Lovrjenac, one of the world’s most evocative and atmospheric venues.
