On April 1 and 2, 2023, make sure to visit the countryside of Dubrovnik ( so called Upper villages ), where the event „Easter in Primorje 2023” will take place, with numerous events, from village games, musical performances, sales of local products, gastronomical offer by locals who will open their homes for you, all preceded by a fantastic walk in nature  that will discover the hidden corners of Dubrovnik countryside to you.

The two-day program begins on Saturday, April 1 with two walking tours „Paths of our ancestors”. The first is from the village of Osojnik to the village of Ljubač, 4 kilometres long, taking the Napoleon road connecting two villages. The second takes place in the picturesque village of Orašac from the hotel Sun Gardens to the attraction of the area, a water reservoir-lake and back to the village central meeting point -Under the plane tree, about 2 and a half kilometers long. Both start at 1 p.m., with and English speaking guide, who will present the nature and national customs of the area. Registration in advance, until Thursday, March 30, e-mail: tic.pile@tzdubrovnik.hr. Free transportation by local (Libertas) buses is also provided, departing from Pile gate at 12:30 p.m.

For those who want to learn how to weave the palm leaves, traditionally blessed during the Palm Sunday celebrations and to paint eggs with Beeswax, there will be a workshop afternoon on Saturday afternoon, from 3 pm to 6 pm in the village of Ljubač, in front of the local Community centre. Home made autochthonous products  and home grown produce of local farms will be on sale. Free transportation by local ( Libertas ) buses is  organized for this event as well, departing at 2:30 p.m. from Pile gate and returning from the village of Ljubač at 6:00 p.m.

On Saturday afternoon, Ljubač will be full of joy and music, performed by local amateur musicians, from the youngest members of the local folklore groups, to a popular female a Capella  group VALDINOCE, Estam Trio, Zaton Brass Music and DJ VJEVERICA.

On Sunday, April 2, at 3 p.m., village games for children and adults begin in Osojnik. Ability and strength will be tested in traditional games such as running in sacks, carrying eggs on a cooker, tug-of-war, all accompanied by DJ Vjeverica, while at 5 p.m. there will be an award ceremony and a concert by the group Viva. All of this is accompanied by fantastic home made food and wine that can be tasted and enjoyed in our rural households of the Upper Dubrovnik villages (Musladin – Ljubač, Laptalo – Gromača, Koraćevo – Orašac and Knez – Pobrežje). They all invite you to taste their specially prepared menus for this occasion, all Saturdays and Sundays during April. A prebooking is compulsory as the space is limited.
